FBP #7: Slow & Steady – Hiring & Scaling

If you’re a business owner looking to expand your team, be conscientious about how you hire new people and scale your business. While speed is important in the micro, it can hurt you on a macro level if you don’t have the right mindset. Get to know and truly care about potential new hires. Make sure they will jive with your company’s culture but don’t jam them into a position that doesn’t work for them. The addition of a new employee should be beneficial to both sides. Ultimately, the goal is to hire slow and fire fast. If you do make a mistake, rectify it as soon as possible. Don’t let it affect the rest of your team.
